Client

The Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) is the agrisupply industry’s leading trade association. Formed in October 2003 by a merger of three trade associations, AIC has over 230 Members in the agrisupply trade.

Brief

AIC originally came to Remark Group as they were having audio issues within their meeting rooms during conference calls and needed a company that were experienced in audio and sound quality.

They were looking for a local business in Peterborough that would offer support throughout the process, with making the switch to video conferencing this can often be a priority to businesses.

To enable collaboration, AIC also flagged that they wanted a solution with the ability to share documents in real time for employees that are in different locations.

“We chose Remark Group due to their personal and knowledgeable approach on video conferencing and technology, we wanted a video conferencing solution to future proof the business and the boardroom.”

Solution

AIC contacted Remark Group following on from a recommendation from a local IT Business Solution company who had previously made use of Remark Groups communication services.

Remark Group provided AIC with a complete conferencing solution to support their board room at their Peterborough facility. The system was designed to be intuitive to control and with minimal user adjustment required.

To tackle the audio issues within the boardroom, Remark Group installed four ceiling beam tracking microphones to provide full 360 – degree coverage of the meeting space. This combined with the with digital audio server that includes acoustic echo cancellation, creates a better sound quality during conference calls.

These were bundled with a 150° wide-angled, software enhanced camera that is specifically designed for conference rooms and workspaces, providing a high-quality picture for the end user. With the adoption of Zoom they now have the ability for online meetings, webinars and real time file sharing.

Let there be Light

As well as providing AIC with a bespoke video conferencing solution, Remark Group also provided the electrical infrastructure to change the lighting arrangements within the boardroom.

Remark Group installed a smart lighting unit to integrate into the boardrooms AV. The ethernet smart dimmer with energy metering provides control system integration with free 2-way IP drivers for RTI, Control4, Crestron and AMX. The unit has robust distributed intelligence so light switches work even if the network is down.

The Benefits

The solution provides exceptional quality high definition video and voice while guaranteeing a fully secure, encrypted, connection.

The bespoke solution provided by Remark Group is that it is exceptionally user-friendly. There’s no need here to hold qualifications in communication technologies, nor plough through product manuals. Since the installation of the video conferencing, the solution has changed the way that people have been working at AIC with more and more employees opting for a video conference.

“The adoption of the video conferencing solution has been greater than what we thought it would be.”
