Can you believe we’re in December already? With the end of 2019 getting closer and closer, we thought we would take a look back over some of our favourite events of 2019.
At the beginning of the year we released our first video on sound masking. Working very closely with Angus Murray photography, our marketing team developed this sound masking video to reflect sound masking and its benefits to businesses, if you haven’t had a chance to watch the video, you can take a look here.
As well as the sound masking video, we have been working very closely with Dr Nigel Oseland all year round on numerous different projects. One of those projects was our ‘Noise and Wellbeing at Work’ survey, where we surveyed over 1,000 UK office workers about how noise affects them in their office. From this, we created multiple short videos on the results, interviewing Dr Nigel Oseland on his professional opinion on noise in the office.
Following on from this we decided to conduct another survey but this time, on air quality, the results were very insightful and looked at how air quality is affecting our productivity and wellbeing in the workplace. You can see the full results from the survey here.
Throughout the year Remark Group have visited and exhibited at some very exciting trade shows. Starting with ISE where we saw Bart Kresa’s Sviatovid projection sculpture and the projection mapping display on the side of RAI. ISE is always an overwhelming show with so much to do, so we’re already looking forward to the 2020 edition.
This year was the first year Remark Group exhibited at the Facilities Show independently and we are so glad we did. The show was held at ExCel London and Remark’s stand gained great traffic and compliments from those who attended. As well as the Facilities Show, Remark exhibited at the Smart Buildings Show for the second year in a row and this year we also held a talk on noise and wellbeing in the workplace which was led by Dr Nigel Oseland.
It wouldn’t be a complete year if we hadn’t taken part in any charity events. At the beginning of the year Remark held our walk for Prostate Cancer UK. The walk took part in Sheringham, Norfolk and was meant to be a 7-mile round walk but the team got a little lost on the way and managed to make it an 8-mile trek. None the less, they made it and raised an amazing £3,000 all for Prostate Cancer UK AND to top it all off, were in the top 1% of fundraisers on Just Giving for February!
We’ve held a couple of bake sale’s in 2019 with one being the Mental Health Tea & Talk bake sale where we raised £126 for the Mental Health Foundation and of course Macmillan Coffee Morning that we hold every year where we raised £70. We also held our cupcake day for Alzheimer’s society which is Remark Group’s chosen charity of the year, as well as the cupcake day we took part in the memory walk for Alzheimer’s society and we still have the Elf Day to come later in the month, so stay tuned for some photos.
We’ve probably missed off a few things, but there’s so much to talk about as it’s been such a busy and exciting year, here’s to 2020 being just as good, if not better!
