Our in-house engineers have recently passed the latest 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, known as the Amendment 2 regulation. This means we’re following the latest British Standards Requirements for Electrical Installations and IET Wiring.
Wiring regulations have received an update, with the publication of Amendment 2 to the 18th edition BS 7671. This will come into full effect from September 2022.
The installation regulations have changed to improve safety levels in electrical installations, due to new technologies and equipment specifications from the latest innovations. This enhances the safety and protection of circuits for new works.
The changes apply to electrical designers and installers, and as a company that keeps abreast of the latest updates, we’ve ensured our engineers have a proficient understanding of the new rules.
The changes focus on the following areas:
- Protection against fire caused by electrical equipment
- Protection against over-voltage and electromagnetic disturbances
- Prosumer’s low-voltage electrical installations
Each edition of the regulations is designed to improve safety levels in electrical installations and accommodate for newer technologies and equipment, including EV charging and prosumer installations.
