GDPR day is upon us

Introduction

What a whirlwind the past year has been ensuring we are GDPR compliant.

If you haven’t heard those four little letters together in the past few months, then where have you been? GDPR has been such a popular topic, according to Google search volume it’s even bigger then Beyoncé!

What is it?

The GDPR has been designed to ensure there is more transparency between businesses who collect and control data and individuals whose data is being collected and used by clearly informing the individual what they will be using their data for. Companies are only permitted to collect data that is adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for the intended purpose of collection. Data collected by businesses which is deemed unnecessary or excessive will be in breach of the GDPR.

Privacy yis a fundamental human right. As people live more of their lives online and depend more on technology to operate their businesses, engage with friends and family, pursue opportunities, and manage their health and finances, the protection of this right is becoming more important than ever. So, we are proud to say here at Remark we have updated our policies and procedures to ensure that we are GDPR compliant.

In the words of Beyoncé, if you liked it, you should have put a data protection act on it.
